At the commencement of our engagement, the Digital Team was an emerging entity within our organisation. After several years dedicated to project delivery, it became essential to gear up for the upcoming three years. This necessitated the development of potential leaders within the team and the establishment of expectations regarding behaviour and accountability. The Covid Lockdowns had evolved work practices and expectations, necessitating a swift re-evaluation of their operational methods. It was now time to improve our Leadership Capability and Mindset.
I recognised the team's vast potential; however, it necessitated a substantial coaching intervention to shift their mindset and transform them into a high-performing team. This led to my collaboration with Greg to devise a programme aimed at refining the team’s intellectual and emotional perspectives, and improve leadership capability and mindset. The primary goal was to comprehend the motivation of individuals and to challenge their perceptions of what constitutes a high-performance team.
Based on past experiences, I believed coaching would yield significant results. Nonetheless, given my team’s relative inexperience, I harboured concerns about the potential outcomes. Selecting the appropriate coach was crucial, and Greg’s methodology and expertise seemed perfectly aligned with our needs.
Our journey is ongoing, yet there has been a notable expansion in the team’s thought processes. They have gained a deeper understanding of individual thought processes and communication styles, enhancing team cohesion, with improved leadership capability and mindset.
Participants in the leadership program have become more effective communicators and have developed leadership skills that advance their careers. Fundamentally, this has laid a solid groundwork for our future development in 2024.
